What is Incognito Mode?
Incognito Mode enables private web browsing by preventing local storage on your device. It allows normal web search and navigation without recording activity on your device. You can still type URLs, search the web, navigate between sites, and create new bookmarks.
It can be beneficial for troubleshooting issues or signing in to multiple accounts without needing to log out of your other account, as it won’t have any pre-existing cookies or stored data.
Incognito Mode is available by default; however, your workspace administrator can also disallow it. When enabled, the following applies:
- Your browsing history, cookies, site data, and form information won’t be saved.
- Pages you view won't appear in your browser history or search history.
- Websites, employers, schools, and internet service providers can see your online activity.
- Downloads and bookmarks will remain after the window closes.

- Right-click on the link you want to open.
- Select Open Link in Incognito Window from the menu.
- The link will open in a new Incognito window.
Note: If you’re signed in to an account and open it in Incognito Mode, you’ll need to sign back in since site data isn’t carried over.
Closing Incognito Windows
To exit Incognito Mode, close the Incognito window by clicking the X in the top right corner (Windows/Linux) or top left corner (Mac).
Alternatively, you can close out each tab individually by clicking the X to the right of it. If you only have one tab open, closing it will also close the Incognito window.
Closing the window clears the session and ensures no history or data is kept. You'll exit out of Incognito Mode and return to normal browsing.
