Comprehensive Guide
To set Cubeless Island as your default browser while you have it open, follow these steps:
1. Click the Cubeless Island menu icon in the top right corner.
2. Click Settings.
3. In the "Default browser" section, click Make default.
4. If you don't see the Make default button, Cubeless Island is already your default browser.
Even though the above method works in all supported operating systems, there are alternative ways to set Cubeless Island as your default web browser without opening it.
Windows 10 Settings
1. On your computer, click the Start menu.
2. Click Settings.
3. Open the Default apps submenu in Settings using the applicable steps below:
- If you have the original version of Windows 10, click System and then Default apps.
- If you have the Windows 10 Creators Update, click Apps and then Default apps.
4. At the bottom, under "Web browser," click your current browser (typically Microsoft Edge).
5. In the "Choose an app" window, click Island.
Windows 11 Settings
Clicking Make default in Cubeless Island will make it the default for .htm, .html, HTTP, and HTTPS. However, this may leave your previous default browser as the default for other file types. Due to this, it's best to use the below method to ensure that Island is the default for all relevant file types.
1. On your computer, click the Start menu.
2. Click Settings.
3. When Settings opens, click Apps and then Default apps.
4. Under "Set defaults for applications," enter Island into the search box and then click Island.
5. At the top, next to "Make Island your default browser," click Set default.
6. To make sure the change applies to the correct file types, review the list below the Set default button and change them accordingly by clicking on each one and selecting Island.
macOS Settings
1. Click the Apple logo at the top-left corner of the menu bar and click System Settings, or click the System Settings icon on the dock.
2. When Settings opens, click Desktop and Dock.
3. Scroll down to the "Default web browser" section.
4. Click the dropdown menu and select Island.
Linux Settings
1. On your computer, open the Applications menu.
2. Click Settings.
3. When Settings opens, select the Default Applications menu option (or search for it using the search bar).
4. Under the "Web" section, select Island from the dropdown menu.
